Hi David, I was privileged to see your dad race when I was a 12 in 1963 at Dundrod and from then on he was my hero although I was a great fan of all the 60’s racers. I saw him at the 1978 TT in the pit area and have one or possibly two photos (on slides) which I have to scan some day! Thank you for setting up this site and bringing pleasure to all who remember.

Just want you to know that I've just got back in touch with a cousin of mine who was a great Mike Hailwood fan back in the 1960s and would like the family to know that after over 40 years he's still not forgotten by someone who was only 15 at the time and only spent two weeks looking at her cousin Jeff's posters! Such a sad loss to the world of racing.

Hi there, as you cab see my name is also Mike. My parents, who drove side-car races in the seventies-eighties, named me after their favorite. They also had a bar in Weert, Limburg, that was named Mike The Bike. Greetings, Mike

I was fortunate to meet Mike at the '75 TT. It was on my 21st Birthday, 3rd June 1975. We saw him at the TT dance/disco thingy. Myself and a few mates had a little chat with Mike. He seemed a real nice bloke with time to chat to us 'long haired bikers' I did get his autograph but lost it years ago but even with Ebay today, I would never have sold it. Well, that's my Mike Hailwood tenuous link. Wish they had mobiles with cameras then!. Rob

Congratulations on a fine website, and a worthy tribute to the greatest. Just finished reading Christopher Hilton's biography, A Man Called Mike', which I'd bought donkey's years ago because I want all there is about SMBH but which I'd treated with suspicion because it was written by a 'car' bloke. It's good, and highly recommended. Anyway, congratulations Pauline, congratulations David. You're not going to forget him and neither will I. Cheers, Bob
