Hailwood rides
NSU
Sportmax, Amijde, Holland
Dave is now back home in Spain after a
great trip to Ameide, Holland, where he very much enjoyed
riding a 250 NSU Sportmax belonging to Jan Kostwinder.
The NSU demonstration event was efficiently organised
by Jan, Jeroen van der Meer and Evert Welvaart. Twenty
or so NSU's and a large field of other classic bike's
were run on a cobbled, road circuit, which must have
been a bit hard on the suspension, and the riders. The
event was well attended, and a good time was had by
all.
Dave was very pleased to meet Ferry Brouwer of Arai
Helmets, and collect his new 'Hailwood' helmet, and
wow! what a fantastic helmet it is. Dave is thrilled
to bit's with it; shame his girlfriend won't let him
wear it in bed.!! Dave was very impressed when Ferry
showed Dave the hundred's and hundred's of different
helmets that they have made over the year's, with many
famous one's instantly recognisable.
Dave would like to say how much he enjoyed meeting
such friendly people, and a sincere thank you to Ferry
Brouwer, Jan, Maaike and Marco Kostwinder, Mario van
Rooyan, Melvin Frey, Roland Froyd and his son, Jan Heese,
and Wim Heeroma, who kindly sent us the photo's shown
here. Thank you all for your generous hospitality and
he hope's to see you all again soon.
