Mike Hailwood
It was at Snetterton Easterday Sunday 1966. Mike dropped
the 350cc Honda four in the wet conditions. Eight riders
crashed in total before the race was stopped. Others: Bill
Ivy (no.9) on Tom Kirby's 350cc 7R Mettise.

Race: INTN'L AT SNETTERTON Date: 67-68 Bike Mfg: TOM
KIRBY MATCHLESS METISSE - 500cc - BILL IVY It was an
intrnational meeting at Snetterton and I was standing in the
paddock spectators area. It had been raining prior to start
of the race and Mike on his Honda six had taken the lead
from the start I think. With Mike in front the pack came out
of Coram Curve and down into a very slippery and wet Rusell,
started to accelerate on to the straight but unfortunately
the back let go and down he went along with a number of
other riders who were immediately behind, If my memory is
correct one was Phil Read. Peter "Mr Smooth" Williams on his
Tom Arter G50 rode away from everyone to win.-

Bill Ivy Passing Mike the easy way. Bill is on Tom
Arter's AJS 7R.- Mad Dog
Bill Ivy on the Kirby 7R Metisse No.9, avoiding fallen
Mike Hailwood's 350 Honda at Riches corner -

Bill Ivy is definitely on one of Tom Kirby's bikes but
unable to see from the colour of the plate whether it is the
350 or 500. Bill Ivy never rode any of Tom Arter's bikes.
