Mike Hailwood's Complete
Motorcycle Racing Career. Every race he rode, every
trophy he won, every spill he took. Based on Mike's
personal records.
1958 was Mike's first full racing season.
It was quickly realized that he was more than just a
rich kid with the best equipment. Although agressively
promoted and supported by his father Stan, Mike proved
the talent and nerve he had by winning against superior
factory bikes, breaking records and setting new lap
times from the very beginning.
During the 1958 season, Mike performed 7 'Hat Tricks'
- winning 3 or more races in one day. At Snetterton
Road Races on June 15th he won all 4 races entered,
the 125cc, 250cc, 350cc and 500cc, raising the lap record
during every race, and was the first rider to lap this
track at 90 mph. He repeated this remarkable performance
at Silverstone on July 5th, winning all 4 classes and
setting a new lap record each time.
